A NEW SPECIES OF TOPOMYIA FROM YUNNAN PROVINCE， CHINA（DIPTERA： CULICIDAE）

Topomyia (Suaymyia)mengi sp.nov.

ABSTRACT.  This new species of Topomyia is similar in morphology to Topomyia sylvatica recently described by Lu, Dong et Wang in 1986. The ventral sides of the femur and tibia of both species are yellowish and the tarsi, tergites ae well as sternites are also alike in coloration. However，the male genitalia of the new species is entirely different from that of To. sylvatica.The distimere is provided with a particular rake-like structure. Through this, character togerher with the subapical leaflike structure and the shapes of the IX T, phallus and the claspette, it can be easily differentiated from other species.

Holotype♂，prartype1♂, are collected from Mengla County (21°24′N, 101°35′E)of Yunnan Province(Oct.1984, by Dong and Wang).The above two specimens are deposited in the Yunnan Institute of Malaria Control and Research.
